Guest Post FAQs

Image via Wikipedia
Generally, all the guest on my blog are by invitation only. Since most of my guests are new to my blog, I have decided to create this FAQ to help you with the logistics of your post. If you have any questions at all after reading this, please don't hesitate to ask.

1. I have no word limits for guest posts. You are free to use as many or as few words as you need for your post, though most authors use between 500 and 1500 words.

2. Unless we have discussed otherwise, all posts need to contain tips, ideas, education or your experiences when it comes to book marketing. I'd like my blog readers to be able to walk away with something they have learned or something they can implement in their book marketing plan.

3. I am grateful for your contribution to this blog. I want to make sure readers can find you and your books, services and sites. In your bio, feel free to list and link liberally to anything you want people to know about you.

4. Please send me any pics or screenshots you want in your post and let me know where you'd like the screenshots to be placed.

5. You can send me your post in the body of an e-mail, attached as a Word doc, or attached as a txt document. I always appreciate HTML tags already in a txt file, but it's not necessary. If you send your post via a Word doc, feel free to hyperlink your text. I will pull the hyperlink from the Word document when I create the post.

6. I will try to catch any editing changes that need to be made. However, on the day your post goes live, look it over. If you see any edits you'd like me to make, e-mail them to me and I will make the changes as soon as I can.

7. I ask that you send your post to me at least two days before it runs. So, if your post is scheduled on a Tuesday, please send it to me by Sunday. If your post is running on Thursday, please have it to me by Tuesday.

8. Word-for-word submission of posts already published elsewhere seems to be on the rise. Therefore I will only consider unique submissions to this blog and I ask that you do not submit the same post elsewhere once submitted here. Of course, you are free to rework your post and submit it elsewhere.

Thanks again for your willingness to share your skills and experiences with my readers. It's the highest honor you can pay to me and I am deeply thankful.

Blog Praise

"Tony's Blog has been a valuable resource to me as I got started marketing my first nationally published book. I subscribe to the rss feed and always gain something new from each post. It is as if I am enrolled in a marketing class for new authors on line. Tony's posts are always written in easy to understand terms and he gives step by step instructions. If you are a new author or wanting to become one, I highly recommend you follow Tony's advice and subscribe to his blog. You will not regret it. It's like taking a course for free!"- Dawn Stephens, Author and Illustrator, The Little Pot Series

What people are saying about our free marketing video tips

Let me just tell you... Your archive tip on linking a photo to another page where people can buy your book was so incredibly helpful and amazingly clear that you now have a real fan. SO smart to take away the fear that so many have of HTML. I followed it to the letter and posted a link on my blog today. Have a look. It's all because of you.
