Marketing Tips Around The Net: April 3rd
Here we go with another quick trip around the net with some great marketing tips from others who know their stuff. Bookmark 'em, file 'em, or just come back here often to look 'em up when you need them. And if you leave a comment, tell them that your friend Tony Eldridge over at Marketing Tips For Authors sent you by to say "Hey."
But first, I want to invite you to stop by a post that I was invited to submit at Book Marketing Maven by Dana Lynn Smith. The title: Promote Your Book with Testimonials and Endorsements. After you read the article, look around Dana's site. She has some great tips to help you market your book.
Now, on to our trip around the net!
1. Save Your Money - Cheap Easy Book Marketing Tips For Book Publishers- Here is a nice article from Helen Hecker to get us started. She gives a good mix of offline and online marketing tips.
2. How to Market Your Book Online- Here is a quick 8 point article by Brooke Brassell to get you going in the right direction with your book marketing activities.
3. How to Use Social Media to Market Your Book- Melinda Copp shares some tips to help us wade through the currents of social media.
4. Connect Online: Easy New Way To Sell Your Book- Warren Whitlock lists some free sites that authors would be crazy not to list themselves on. Check it out.
5. 10 ways to use Facebook- Jon Reed writes this as advice for a publishing company, but most of the points hit home for authors as well.
6. Marketing your book online- I'm seeing more and more people focus on Facebook, blogs, and Twitter as great online tools. I tend to agree as to their importance and so does Miles Burke.
7. Using Facebook to Your Advantage by Angela Wilson- Angela Wilson interviews Facebook expert Mari Smith in, what is in my opinion, one of the best articles on using Facebook.
8. Social Networking: GoodReads- I have to admit that GoodReads.com is one of my favorite Social Network sites. It is strictly for people who love to read or write books. Becky Levine takes your through her journey, as an author, of signing up for GoodReads and setting up her profile. She shares some great resource links as well.
9. How to do Drive-By Book Signings by J.A. Konrath- This is one of my favorite articles of all time. J.A. Konrath shares a unique way he engages in many book signings at bookstores in the cities he visits.
10. 40+ Ways to Make Your Next Book Signing an EVENT!!- Larry James gives you a 4 part "do's and don'ts" list when you are planning your next book signing.

Let me just tell you... Your archive tip on linking a photo to another page where people can buy your book was so incredibly helpful and amazingly clear that you now have a real fan.
SO smart to take away the fear that so many have of HTML. I followed it to the letter and posted a link on my blog today. Have a look. It's all because of you. Online Community Strategist --Angela Connor

Tony, thanks so much for the link! Glad you liked the post. :)
It was great! I love GoodReads. Whenever I post to it in my profile or in groups, it shows up in the search engines pretty fast.
Great post, Tony. Marketing is sooo important for writers, especially with the recent economy problems. We need as many ideas as we can get!
