Call For Author Tax Advice

Good morning, all. Football season is in full steam after the wild card weekend gave us a wild weekend indeed! I suppose if I have one vice, it's football. I can see it starting to affect my 3 year old twin boys. We can be in the middle of a restaurant and if football is on a television, they proudly clinch their fist and yell, "Go Colts!" It's cute now, but being in the middle of Dallas Cowboy country, people may have a different view of that if the Colts and Cowboys meet in the Super Bowl!

Well, today I have two requests from my blog readers.

1. As you may know, a major film producer acquired the rights to my novel, The Samson Effect. If you get a chance, visit the IMDB link to support The Samson Effect movie project. The film producer wants to start to let people know about this link. There is not much there yet, but he will make updates on the film progress there.

2. I am looking for someone who can share tax tips specifically for authors. With April 15th just around the corner, many authors are starting to think about this. I am looking for things like, "When should you report author income on your social security number and when should you have a separate tax ID number?; What type of deductions should authors be aware they can take? etc..." If you have this knowledge and you are willing to share some ideas, please contact me by clicking on my photo in the top-right of my blog and then click E-Mail.

If you would, please tweet this post so I can make sure some great resources have a chance to share this important info with authors.

I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Congrats!
Separate tax ID number if you have employees - that's the advice I received anyway.
And I've been fully self-employed for eleven years, so I always claim everything.

Please DO NOT claim EVERYTHING! that is how you get audited. Get an advice of an accountant.

What people are saying about our free marketing video tips

Let me just tell you... Your archive tip on linking a photo to another page where people can buy your book was so incredibly helpful and amazingly clear that you now have a real fan. SO smart to take away the fear that so many have of HTML. I followed it to the letter and posted a link on my blog today. Have a look. It's all because of you.
