Marketing Tips Around The Net: August 20th

It's Friday, and not just any Friday. Parents all across the country are starting to bring their kiddos back to school. While our children go off to learn, Fridays for us mean that we can get our own education by sitting at the feet of others around us. Today, I have assembled 10 book marketing posts from other experts that have caught my eye. I'm confident you can find some great tips from them.

One educational opportunity you might want to check out before we begin is a teleseminar I conducted with Dana Lynn Smith last week entitled, "Boost Your Book Sales With Twitter." In the first half, Dana discussed how authors can use Twitter to sell books, then I talked about how authors can use Twitter contests to find more readers for their books. You can now purchase the recording and also get these added bonus guides:

1. Dana's Twitter Learning Guide
2. Dana's special report, 10 Steps to Online Networking Success
3. My 10-Step Guide for Conducting Effective Twitter Contests

Dear Tony:
I am so glad that you've resumed your Friday wrap-up of blog posts. I've been on withdrawal for a long time.

I don't know where you get the time to follow so many blogs.

Thanks for mentioning the Mark Levy post, too.

Best wishes--

Tony, thank you for including my piece on the Oprah scams in your roundup this week. It's good to have you back from hiatus.

And Roger, I've been absent for a bit, too. I've been redoing my Web site. Whew!

Glad to see so many others I know here, too. I'm jumping over to these blogs to get my weekly dose of hand-picked wisdom from you Tony.

Best,
Carolyn

Hey Roger, I have to admit that these roundups are one of my favorite blog pieces. Thank goodness for Outlook rules! They allow me to funnel all the blogs I am subscribed to directly to it's own folder for easy scanning. Hopefully, others can get something to help them market from the sites I highlight.

Carolyn, your Oprah scam was a very interesting and informative piece. New authors, by nature, are excited about any opportunity and I think it's important to help them be judicious in their expectations, especially when there are people out there that will prey on their excitement.

Hi Tony .. I did look at two of them .. I'll put the others on hold for now .. I know you have a fantastic resource centre here,

I looked at Diane's 'Are ebooks really green' & commented and at the Google products .. which probably needs more thinking about .. especially as I don't use many of them .. but need to learn!

Thanks - really useful resources .. & I picked up the Mark Levy name (he came up elsewhere at the weekend .. so rang a bell) .. so I'll be back sometime! Have a good week .. Hilary
