Barbara, in some cases it's best to query first before sending review copies, and it's always important to make sure your book is a good fit for the reviewer and send good information to the reviewer. Most reviewers receive more books than they can review, but you have to submit in order to have a shot!

Hi Tony,

Great review on Dana Lynn Smith's book How to Get Your Book Reviewed! I know from getting her newsletters for some time that she is an excellent teacher. She always includes such clear steps and directions, along with her practical knowledge and tips. I'm sure this book will be a great addition to any writer's arsenal!

Although I did send out review copies when my debut novel was released in June 2010, I learned early on that most went directly for sale on Amazon, via used book sellers, and thus a waste of time and money. Fast forward to the far wiser author I am now, sprung up quickly from the school of "live and learn." I still believe that reviews are hugely important, but a the important ingredient of course is when those review copies land in the right hands. Fingers crossed -- I would love to win Dana's book and then jump right in!
