I just downloaded one of the non-fiction Vooks to take a look at it: 90-Second Fitness Solution (Hey, thought I might as well review one that could really help me!).

It has a very nice format for reading online. It's layout is clean, crisp and easy to use.

Looking at the training content, it delivers what it promises. The videos are demonstrative and useful. There are 11 videos between 1 and 2 minutes each. Total video time runs around 13 minutes.

I think the Vook is poised to deliver the type of training I envisioned in the post, but it is still a different product.

The Video E-Book I envisioned provides the merging of a total learning experience that you would find in a book, a seminar, and a workshop. More in depth; a classroom style learning environment.

The Vook I watched nails what it sets out to accomplish. Though it does indeed use video and text together, it's still not the product that delivers the seminar/workshop style training that I see for the future, all integrated into a single common file for the user.

As an industry, I see us getting there quickly, however.

Hey Diane,

It has been a while since I looked at the Vook platform, which started integrating books with simple commercial style videos, and then did a pretty good job adding entertaining video for fiction. I just popped over to see their current line up of products and, indeed, it looks like they are starting to add demonstrative videos into their non-fiction titles coming out. As I wrote in the post, I really think that we are in the early stages of something new as this media only grows by leaps and bounds. Thanks for bringing this up! I hope to see more products like this available to the end user over time.
